Today, the seas and oceans constitute a multidimensional field of research spanning international politics, security, law, the economy, and environmental sustainability. Established with this understanding, the International Maritime Affairs Group (IMAG) is an international research group operating under the umbrella of the Global Academy, with the aim of promoting interdisciplinary scientific research in the fields of maritime governance, maritime security, maritime diplomacy, and ocean studies. IMAG aims to support the production of high-quality knowledge by bringing together academics and researchers from diverse disciplines on a common academic platform; to develop national and international research collaborations; to carry out joint research projects and academic publications; and to contribute to maritime studies through policy briefs, workshops, seminars, and educational activities. Operating in accordance with the principles of scientific independence, academic ethics, interdisciplinarity, and international collaboration, IMAG aims to contribute to the academic literature on marine studies and to establish a sustainable international academic network among researchers.
