He graduated from the Department of International Relations at Karadeniz Technical University in 2007. In 2009, he completed his master’s degree in the Department of International Relations at Karadeniz Technical University with a thesis entitled “The Aegean Sea Continental Shelf Dispute from the Perspective of International Maritime Law”, and in 2018, he completed his PhD in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul University with a thesis entitled “A Perception of a Transboundary Threat in Environmental Security: Nuclear Harm”. Between 2014 and 2015, he spent one year at the American University Washington College of Law in the USA on a TÜBİTAK scholarship to conduct research for his doctoral thesis; in 2022, he spent six months at the American University Washington College of Law in the USA on a TÜBİTAK scholarship to conduct postdoctoral research. Between 2009 and 2019, he served as a Research Assistant in the Department of International Relations, Division of International Law, at Giresun University. From 2020 to 2025, he worked as a lecturer in the Department of Logistics Management, Division of International Trade and Logistics, at Ankara University. Since September 2025, he has been serving as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Maritime Studies, Istanbul Technical University. His research focuses on maritime security and law, environmental security, and Turkish foreign policy.
