Zeynep Şartepe

Zeynep Şartepe is an international relations researcher interested in emerging and disruptive technologies and in how science and technology intersect with politics, power, and security. She has worked extensively on the politics of drone technology in Turkey and the interface between dual-use technologies and policymaking. She holds a Ph.D. degree in IR at Kadir Has University. Previously, she worked as a doctoral researcher for a defense-industrial project at the Center for Foreign Policy and Peace Research at Bilkent University. She has been a research fellow at the Square, Mediterranean Centre for Revolutionary Studies since April 2024. Her research focuses on drone technology, spatial politics, technology governance, geopolitics, biopolitics and security, ontological security, and Turkish and Middle Eastern politics.
