The GA Research Hub on Environment and Natural Resources was established to examine the political, economic, and societal dimensions of environmental degradation and ecological change. Its research focuses on a wide range of topics related to the environment and natural resources, including sustainability, climate change, pollution, biodiversity, agricultural production and food security, transformations in energy supply and demand, natural disasters, urbanization, national and regional water resources, global environmental regimes, and environmental justice.

Methodologically, the Research Hub adopts a pluralistic approach to conduct research on Turkey’s environmental policies through qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods, and generating analyses at both regional and global levels. In addition to academic work, the Hub aims to produce policy-oriented outputs, bringing together stakeholders from academia, government, local administrations, civil society, and the private sector to contribute to the development of environmental policymaking in Turkey.
