Prof. Dr. Nesrin Algan graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences (Mülkiye) Department of Politics and Administration. She completed her master’s and doctoral education in the same faculty in the field of Urbanization and Environmental Issues. Between 1984 and 1998, she worked as an expert and manager in the foreign relations unit of the Prime Ministry’s Environment Undersecretariat (later the Ministry of Environment). Since 1998, she has been a faculty member at the Department of Urban, Environmental, and Local Governance Policies at the Faculty of Political Sciences at Ankara University. Prof. Algan’s areas of interest include Marine Environmental Policies, Environmental Security, International Environmental Law, International Environmental Policies, and Ecocide. She also volunteers at various non-governmental organizations.
