Dr. Doğuş Sönmez has been working as a research assistant at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Kadir Has University since 2022. Sönmez is also the publication coordinator at Panorama Global. Sönmez completed his doctorate at Galatasaray University’s International Relations Program in 2025 and holds a bachelor’s degree from Marmara University’s Department of Political Science and International Relations (English) and a master’s degree from the same university’s Department of International Relations (English). His academic areas of expertise include Comparative Foreign Policy Analysis, International Relations Theories, Russian Foreign Policy, and Turkey-Russia-Iran relations. In his latest research, Sönmez examined the environmental impacts of the Russia-Ukraine War and whether the environmental policies of the Russian Federation are inconsistent in the context of these impacts.
