General Description

In the program, the main state forms established from the Sumerian city-states to the modern period will be discussed through their primitive and/or typological examples.

In this context, the types of states that have transformed in parallel with the inventions from bronze, writing and wheel to digitalization, which are the catalysts of the process that gave birth to central bureaucratic states, will be discussed. On the one hand, the rise and fall of the main empires, whose influences/heirs have survived to the present day, will be examined, and on the other hand, the basic dynamics of the process of settling the “West” at the center of the international system will be analyzed.

Methodology

A total of 8 sessions will be 120 minutes each (with 15 minutes of break and 30 minutes of free discussion).

Calendar

As of October 27, 2021, every Wednesday and Sunday at 21.00
