The Political Psychology Research Hub is a specialized initiative under the Global Academy, dedicated to integrating Ontological Security Theory (OST) with political psychology to systematically explore the role of emotions in foreign-policy and security discourses. The Hub’s research agenda focuses on themes such as state identity and narratives, securitization, collective memory, trauma, and the emotional, social, and material anchors of identity. Methodologically, it employs Emotion Discourse Analysis (EDA), content analysis, and mixed qualitative–quantitative approaches to uncover emotional patterns embedded in political language and decision-making.
Beyond its analytical contributions, the Hub prioritizes policy-oriented outputs through the preparation of policy papers and briefs, the organization of targeted workshops, and the development of practical tools that help policymakers recognize and manage emotions in foreign-policy and security contexts.
Findings will be regularly disseminated through a concise monthly analytical note.
