Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ba\u015far Baysal is a faculty member at the Department of American Studies, Institute of Regional Studies, Ankara University of Social Sciences. He graduated from the Military Academy in 2007 and served in various duty stations including Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Istanbul, Ankara, Diyarbak\u0131r, Hakk\u00e2ri, and Northern Iraq until his retirement in 2019. Baysal completed his master’s degree at Marmara University’s Department of International Relations and his doctorate at Bilkent University’s Department of International Relations in 2017. His research areas include Critical Security Studies, Peace and Conflict Processes, Climate-Security Nexus, Defense Studies, Environmental Security, War Economies, Latin American Studies, Conflict Period Economies, and Securitization Theory. In 2020\u20132021, as a T\u00dcB\u0130TAK 2219 postdoctoral research fellow, he conducted field research on the implementation of the Colombian peace process at the Universidad del Rosario in Colombia. In 2023\u20132024, he carried out a research project on climate security perceptions in Turkey at the Sabanc\u0131 University Istanbul Policy Center. Dr. Baysal is the author of the book titled \u201cSecuritization and Desecuritization of FARC in Colombia: A Dual Perspective Analysis.\u201d His articles have also been published in academic journals such as Peacebuilding, International Relations, and International Journal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
