Birg\u00fcl Demirta\u015f earned her bachelor’s degree from Bo\u011fazi\u00e7i University, her master’s degree from Bilkent University, and her doctorate from the Free University of Berlin. She has taught at Ba\u015fkent University, TOBB ET\u00dc, and the Turkish-German University. Demirta\u015f has also been a visiting lecturer at the University of T\u00fcbingen and the Center for Comparative Politics at the University of Cologne and a visiting researcher in the Department of International Relations at the University of Westminster. Demirta\u015f has served as the managing editor of the Journal of International Relations. Her research focuses on Turkish foreign policy, the Balkans, German foreign policy, local diplomacy, and gender in academia. Demirta\u015f currently works as a part-time faculty member in the Department of International Relations at TED University.
