This understanding of civilization, shaped by the growth policies while contributing to the &#8220;sixth great extinction&#8221; and the current climate crisis, has now acquired a destructive character. Dr. Nesrin Algan has completed her graduate and doctorate studies at the same faculty in the field of Urbanization and Environmental Problems. Between 1984-1998 she worked as an expert and manager in the foreign relations unit of the Prime Ministry Undersecretariat for Environment (later the Ministry of Environment). Since 1998, she has been a faculty member in the Department of City, Environment and Local Government Policies at the Faculty of Political Sciences at AU. Prof. Algan is working and giving lectures in the fields of Environmental Policies, Marine Environmental Policies, Environmental Security, International Environmental Law, Sustainable Development, Climate Politics and Ecocrime.
